Who We Are

Balsam Tide Immigration LLC was founded in 2023 to assist clients looking to immigrate to Canada. We are regulated by the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants and are licensed to offer consultation services to individuals worldwide. The founder and president of our company is Kate Simms.

Kate was born and raised in Newfoundland and Labrador, a beautiful and rugged province found on the most easterly coast of Canada.

She completed a Bachelor of Education at Memorial University of Newfoundland and, after teaching for several years, returned to complete a Masters in Employment Relations. 

Kate started her career in immigration at the Association for New Canadians, a non-profit organization offering immigration and settlement services in NL. She managed the organization’s Private Sponsorship of Refugees program (PSR) and during this time, submitted applications and provided settlement support for hundreds of individuals.

Recognizing a love for all things Canadian immigration, Kate returned to school and successfully completed a postgraduate diploma at Queen’s University Law School in Immigration and Citizenship Law. As a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant with an Immigration and Refugee Board designation,  Kate prides herself on providing ethical and honest support for those wishing to visit or relocate to Canada.
